Clowning is a theatre form which allows one to connect with their inner child, discover their unique inner clown(s) and experience a relationship with the fellow artists and the audience alike, like no other art form. This 20 hour program will give you an opportunity to come out of the restrained, boundary-defined, conscious adult self and explore the expressive, uninhibited and fearless child within you. Through improvisation, body movement, emotional expressions, song and dance, and some tools from Playback, the course will aim at living one’s inner clown, co-perform with other clowns, and set up a clowning show at the end of 10 sessions. You don’t need a prior acting experience to join the course!

Snehil is an Improviser at Improv Comedy Bangalore, and is on his journey to learn and grow everyday through different performing art forms like Clowning, Playback and Psychodrama. Like several artists, he has also been inspired by the Clown and the Joker portrayed in mainstream media. His first stint with learning Clowning came in 2018 when he was part of a 25-hour Clowning Intensive workshop by Marwa Haiba from HsHs clowns, Egypt. Since then, in addition to exploring his own inner clown through improvisation, he has also taken Clowning workshops for improvisers in Bangalore and performing arts teachers for kids. Through this workshop, he aims to create a community for Clown Improvisers in Bangalore.
